We just finished doing our first proper shearing through the new yards. They worked awesome. I was able to work most of the sheep by myself with a dog. Haven’t been able to do that before. They seem to mill around the corners quite well; the blind panels work well, the draft is very easy, they work well.
We like the man gates and dog gates, rather like them. The quick close bolt locks, they work extremely well. They’re good; they are well built, strongly built.
I think they are a good set of yards. I don’t know if there is better around; we obviously didn’t think there was.

We are very glad we made this choice. They flow great, and they have dramatically reduced the time it takes us to complete sheep work. It’s so much more enjoyable to work sheep these days plus we have a great modern facility to showcase our Stud Rams coming that time of the year. The adjustable sided draft module has made a massive difference in sheep work, allowing change from a v-sided for smaller sheep, preventing sheep from turning around, to a straight sided for larger sheep.

Magnificent. The first mob we put in here was about 200 cross bred ewes plus lambs. By the time we got out of the ute, pen them up, we had drafted and gone for lunch in 25minutes. That would have been about a 3hour job for what we used to have by the time you dealt with them all; it’s just something we wouldn’t do.
It’s really efficient, and it’s going to improve our flock hugely; instead of going and catching them in the paddock. The quality is really good, absolutely exceptional. The draft works really good. Drafting is not a problem like it used to be. It’s just brilliant
The man gates are in a good spot. So far its made the job excellent, you actually want to come to work.

The features I’m impressed with in the Commander yards are the man ways which include the dog flaps, the diamond yards- the versatility has just been wonderful- they have been revolutionary in saving us climbing over fences/the dogs jumping.

We needed a set of yards that would be able to handle our dairy/beef enterprise and after several meetings with James Pudney to get the design of the yards exactly how I wanted – I believe we achieved that.
The final product has exceeded our expectations and we have found ourselves doing more yard work than we ever have in the past. The pound, forcing pen, V-race, twin loading ramps and 5 way drafting make the yards a joy to work in and the cows, both bucket raised and paddock raised, flow extremely well in them.
We have since purchased two Commander Ag augers. The quality and versatility of these machines is also a credit to them.
